At Claims Recruitment Services we are proud to deliver a consistent and continuous market leading recruitment service for claims professionals and insurance businesses and have done so since 2013, building and strengthening our reputation in the Claims niche as an expert consultancy and trusted recruitment partner.

Why do we do this?

We are one of the only claims specific recruitment consultancies in the UK and make it our business every day to understand the wants and needs of both Claims professionals and insurance businesses when it’s time to hire or find a new job in claims.

We understand that finding a new job can be life changing and finding the best talent that otherwise can’t be reached can be of infinite value and so Claims Recruitment Services embraces a culture of honesty, integrity and trust approaching the work that we do in a highly consultative way that adds infinite value to a client’s recruitment process and a candidate’s job search.

Our founders Miles & Jamie adopted a 24-step executive search methodology from their previous companies and have developed this into our own unique recruitment process called The Eden Ladder. We all know that candidates and clients are often treated like numbers at recruitment agencies and we never wanted to be like other recruitment agencies in this way. The Eden Ladder paired with our values, claims specialism and expertise is really what sets us apart.

We work closely as ambassadors to our clients from new start-ups to established Lloyd’s Syndicates, all the way up to the global corporate insurers of the world we have a diverse portfolio of clients big, medium and small who we interact and maintain relationships with regularly. We manage an expansive network for claims, insurance & legal professionals making it our business to know about the best of both the new and established talent across claims.

Even insurance specialist recruiters will likely struggle to gain a competent understanding of the market as they may be recruiting on a variety of different jobs in many different business functions. Claims Recruitment Services is a true specialist and one of the only Claims focused recruitment agencies in the UK. This removes the pain points for our clients and candidates who work with other agencies which are often not submitting the right candidates with the specific skill sets and are often not sharing the right job opportunities with the right candidates.

Transparency around salaries and expectations as well as hidden or withheld benefits really can make or break a job offer. We aim to fully understand the compensation and benefits offered by our clients as well as our candidates’ salary expectations and how they might measure up to the market. If you’re under paid or under paying we’ll tell you straight, if you’re over paid or over paying we’ll tell you straight.

No stone unturned

Concerns about a candidate’s skills gap, experience, personal attributes or cultural fit and concerns around an employer’s progression/development offering, culture, flexibility or quality of work are all issues that can and do crop up during a recruitment process. The problem is that these are often not revealed until the end of a process if at all. We strive to understand all and any concerns, questions or issues no matter how big or small from both the client and candidate perspective at the earliest opportunity possible. If these concerns can be alleviated, we alleviate them, if they cannot be alleviated then it might be the best decision for candidate and client to part ways.

Counter Offers

Counter offers can be heart sinking moments for all involved in a recruitment process. Is the risk of counter offer truly understood and addressed? You may touch on it at an interview or have a feeling but is it really ever broken down in an informative and honest way? We address the psychology and potential risk of counter offer for every candidate making an initial high, medium, low or nil assessment to reduce this as quickly as possible. Using specific questioning to try to understand and evaluate, but most importantly reduce the risk of a counter offer being accepted by our candidates. Ultimately, we cannot control how a human being makes a decision and will always apply an empathetic approach. What we do is ensure that we address, discuss and analyse counter offer risk in a human and professional way with every candidate we work with.

Managing Director

Miles has worked in insurance recruitment since 2006, having worked with and filled positions for many major Insurers in both the London and regional markets and was the top billing Consultant for his two previous recruitment companies. Miles founded Claims Recruitment Services in August 2013, having identified a gap in the market. To set up Eden James Consulting as a sister company was always his next intention; the company provides mid-senior level recruitment solutions, on either an Executive Search or Contingency basis, in areas outside of claims. Miles was thoroughly trained in the art of Executive Search, using the ‘Finkel Methodology’, a 24-step recruitment process. This thorough process, combined with a lot of hard work, passion and determination, has been a fundamental aspect of his success. Miles has always had a competitive nature, having been Hampshire Badminton Champion four times and played in the Hampshire Premier Squash Division, this has certainly helped him throughout his recruitment career. It has also been important for Miles to create a cohesive team that works well together, and he most certainly has that with Jamie, Russell, Joe and Erik. We’re like a family, except we don’t spend Christmas together (not all of it anyway).

Jamie trained with Miles Eden in 2012/13 before joining Claims Recruitment Services as it’s first employee in September 2013. Jamie is a true claims recruitment specialist operating across the Lloyd’s, London and UK (Re)Insurance markets, with exposure in the European, Middle Eastern and Caribbean regions also. Jamie developed The Eden Ladder which drew influence from the original 24 step executive search methodology Miles had trained him in. He has a passion for building strong relationships and uncovering the best talent in the market, he’s very much an ambassador to his clients and a trusted asset to his candidates. Before his recruitment career Jamie was a guitar & music tutor who then graduated with an honour’s degree in Music, travelled Australia, Thailand and many other parts of the world. He enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, is an avid car enthusiast, plays guitar and produces his own music, builds & sells gaming PC’s and enjoys practicing mindfulness & meditation.

Russell has worked in the recruitment industry for over 20 years, initially placing qualified finance and accounting professionals into industry, before specialising in recruitment in the insurance sector. Russell works with one simple aim: to deliver a professional, tailored recruitment service, built on trust and transparency. His philosophy is equally simple – building long-term business relationships brings true value. He prides himself on his expert knowledge and being able to deliver an honest and professional service to all his clients and candidates. Outside of work, he enjoys tennis and squash and is a keen kite-surfer when it’s windy enough!

Erik is a dedicated Recruitment Consultant, specialising in the insurance industry, with a focus on positions within both Lloyd’s of London and company markets. Since August 2022, he has closely collaborated with his colleagues continuously refining his expertise in recruiting professionals for highly regarded and reputable insurance companies. His greatest strength lies in his ability to build strong relationships with both clients and candidates. His journey in customer-facing roles within the Finance Industry, which began after his graduation in 2020, led him to discover his true passion in insurance recruitment. Combining his knowledge of Economics with his strong communication skills, he strives to provide a high-quality service to professionals in the industry. He particularly enjoys guiding candidates through the interview process, ensuring they present themselves in the best possible way and matching the ideal candidate for his clients. Beyond his professional life, he has a diverse set of interests, including gaming with his friends, exploring new cities, and eating delicious cuisine.
